Olo Walicki, double bass player, composer, producer, born in Gdansk, Poland in 1974.
Founding member of OW Kaszebe, The Saintbox, Zespol Ciesni i Tanca.
Walicki plays improvised music, composes for theatre and film. He is associated with the alternative scene of the Tricity and Warsaw. He realises performances and projects with dance theatres.
Walicki collaborates with Andrzej Seweryn, Ingmar Villqist, Gaba Kulka, Maciek Szupica, Macio Moretti, Piotr Pawlak, Kuba Staruszkiewicz, Wojtek Mazolewski, Kalle Kalima, WOR, Dada von Bzdülöw Theatre, Polish Radio Dwójka and Trójka.
Debuted at the age of 16 in an avantgarde band Niebieski Lotnik with Jerzy Mazzoll and Jacek Olter.
He was a part of a genre described as "yass scene" and worked with its creators: Tymon Tymanski, Mikolaj Trzaska, Tomasz Gwincinski. For many years Walicki was a member of bands led by Leszek Mozdzer. In the years 1996-2004 he performed and recorded with Zbigniew Namyslowski Quartet.
Olo Walicki was a member of Loskot, a free-jazz group, as well as pop-alternative Szwagierkolaska, Oczi Cziorne and the late line-up of Milosc.
He took part in dozens of stylistically diverse albums. Some of the Walicki's original projects have been published by his own label.
